| ORNAHD News November 24th,2011 |
| Posted: Thu, Nov 24th 2011 at 09:12:35 Hello Everyone,
Just another last minute reminder to all members, if you have a colleague who has yet to renew their membership for ORNAHD, please remind them of the November 30th deadline!
Christine Bilopavlovic our treasurer, represents the RNFANC group on the ORNAC board, and has just returned from a meeting in which certain needs have been identified. They are looking for people who are interested in working on the ORNAC Standards - responsibilities involve participating in lit reviews in efforts to validate them.
ORNAC is also looking for people to submit articles for the journal. If you have recently written a paper for a BScN/Masters assignment or participated in a project in your facility or even have a practice issue or standard related event you might like to share, please consider sharing this with your perioperative colleagues
The 2013 National conference in Ottawa is soon entering into their planning stages, and ORNAC are also seeking out anyone interested in helping out with the conference.

| Volunteer Nurses needed |
| Posted: Tue, Nov 8th 2011 at 06:28:58 IS anyone looking for a great learning opportunity> See the message below: Hello, I am a general surgeon in Ottawa and will be leading a team of volunteers to do 2 weeks of surgical work in Antigua, Guatemala, Jan. 28 - Feb. 11, 2012. I am looking for a couple more OR nurses to join our team as we have had a few who have had to cancel due to work or personal issues. It is a self sponsored non religious group that started in B.C. and this will be the organization's 12 trip ( my 5th ). We do ENT, General surgery and Gyne, the type of case any OR nurse would be familiar with. No Spanish skills are required. Can you tell me how I might be able to recruit some more volunteers through your organization? Time is short but we have had some late cancellations. We often have nurses late in their careers or who have recently retired. We stay in a lovely city in the mountains of central Guatemala surrounded by coffee plantations. It is more of a working holiday with a chance to see a beautiful part of the world. Please let me know if you may be able to help. Our current team has members coming from Ontario, Manitoba, and Ohio.
